The Regional Hospital Mistelbach-Gänserndorf was extended by a new building followed by refurbishment and comprehensive renovation of the existing facilities. These extensions and upgrades were necessary to bring the hospital up to the latest technical standards, ensure efficient and modern workflows, and prepare it for future requirements.

Challenge

Throughout the entire extension, refurbishment, and general renovation process, ongoing hospital operations had to be maintained.

Solution

The project was implemented on the basis of a turnkey contract, with the following considerations being decisive:

• Guarantee of costs, schedule and quality by contractor
• no complex interface management
• only one partner to talk to
• only one tendering procedure to be processed by client (it was tendered Europe-wide in accordance with European standards for public procurement)
• Financial structuring

The project was tendered Europe-wide according to European standards for public procurement. The contract covered - based on a turnkey implementation - the new building and refurbishment of existing facilities.
